For The Love Of Sleep

Take it from a Mum of 5 – ‘You deserve a good night’s sleep’

We speak to Annmarie Sanson, Director of national nanny agency Night Nannies Australia Pty Ltd on why you deserve some extra support.

“I remember going to my full-time job as a 20 something and telling my colleagues in an exasperated voice about how tired I was and how hard it was getting into work on time. My colleagues, who mostly happened to be parents looked at me and smiled with sympathetic eyes. One colleague did say to me – ‘Come back and see me when you have had a baby, then will you know the true meaning of tired.’

Being 20, and having no idea, I laughed and thought – doubt it.

Five children later, including twins I have some wrinkles, a few grey hairs and some dark circles which I am not sure will ever go away.

We have lived on the Central Coast for 15 years now – apparently, we have just moved out of ‘blow in’ status. (That’s Coast talk for you did not grow up here).

Having no family nearby, hubby doing the Sydney commute with the added bonus of interstate travel – we were on our own. We knew it would be hard, but we didn’t plan on having twins and did not realise how much strain parenting can put on you as a family. Both of us coming from small families were very excited at the prospect that we would be rearing a large family. But without support around us and a non-existent ‘village’ of old – our stress levels were rising and energy rapidly depleting. Night Nannies evolved from a need to provide much needed support.”

Night Nannies was born in 2005 to provide an urgent 24 hour in home support service for parents. At the ready are a national multi-disciplinary team of nannies, nurses and educators who are all background checked dedicated professionals who love helping families.

Night Nannies work with each family on an individually tailored basis. Some families get in contact because there may be a parent who is ill or their child cannot attend day care due to the child being sick. Others require assistance with sleep and settling. In addition to this, Night Nannies also have their most popular service providing the good old fashioned Grandma or Mother in law service (Postnatal Care). This is where one of their amazing staff come to you and work together with Mum or both parents overnight to assist with feeds and settling.

Also on offer is an overnight respite service where Night Nannies come in and care for baby or older children overnight so you can have a full well deserved rest.

And Yes! They also do also offer babysitting with the same fantastic staff.
